this is some character designs that I'm working on for a new book. We're adapting the old Twilight Zone Tv shows into graphic novels...my professor, Dove McHargue has already done one fo the stories. Now I'm doing "Odyssey of Flight 33" written by Mark Kneece...my friend and enemy! haha.

I was asked by Amanda Francis, a writer to draw out a scene involving a man killing his lover.

The Fanboy Series...proposed

This is the hero, Will Nickols, a young naive computer tech whose invisible to the world around him, but the world's pain isn't invisible to him. Thus when he puts on his cape of triumph and the iconic symbol "F", he stands for justice, half-truths, and the Geek Way. Here's the Fanboy!

Trevor Knecht, the brain behind the world's villains. He's the unknown puppetmaster that holds all the strings, that is when he's not dealing with his mother who he lives with.

Vic Rad, is Trevor's right hand man, the man who does all the terrible deeds. With an oversized coat as a cover for his arsenal of weapons, he's able to be prepared for anything, anything except the unpredictable Fanboy.

Frank M. Diller, is another wannabe hero, for he tries to save everyone only to screw up anything he touches. Despite being a regular ladies man, he's a dutche bag.

Sarah, a librarian at the New York Library, whose secretly in love with the computer tech guy, Will but doesn't act on her impulses for there's a risk of being exposed as a 'closet-geek' too.

and last but not least,

Bob, the antagonistic fanboy. He lives to destroy Will, in both his worlds, the library and in the city. He loves Sarah and will do anything for her but won't ask her out. He hates Will for personal reasons. He hates what the Fanboy stands for. He's too stupid to know that Will 'is' the Fanboy.

A Summary of Graduate school, Fall Quarter '06

I'm done.

17 pages, written, designed, penciled, inked, toning, fonts, and printed out.

5 pages of various subjects including horror, seduction, and medieval times.

10 weeks of getting up every other morning at 7AM to go listen in the dark for 2 and half hours pouring over 100 images, artists, title of works, period, dates, and 20 essays.

Every other day when i was able to make it, was work-out at the Turner Gym with Cliff, friend and trainer. I have biceps now. Interestingly enough, I don't have girls flocking all over me yet. Hmm...

And I'd say more than 6 or 7 all-nighters, one 50 hour straight of work and no sleep, and lost about 3 lbs in weight. However gained about 5-10 lbs of muscle. Guys have it easy.

Lost about 10-25 bucks in change given out to the Savannah homeless...and pan handlers. I live next door to an away house or shelter house. Lost about 30-40 dollars worth of quarters and dimes to the wonderful Savannah Parking Services. Screw them. A couple grand to the school. More to come in the future. A grand or less for Apartment rental, electricity, water, gas, ComCast internet and cable for 10 weeks. Too much money in supplies, and printings.

So, in conclusion John Lowe, I'd say this has been a productive and interesting quarter. here's the rest of Graduate school!

The coloring was done by my classmate and friend, Matthew. He did a great job, did a couple different versions and this is the one we liked the best. however, when converting to internet colors, the excellent colors were toned down a bit...but you get the idea.

This is a series that I am starting soon, its about a young girl and a

giant. In a world of giants and machines, there are little human

beings. Cool huh? Yea I know, its been done before with the Iron Giant,

Matrix series, and tons of other machine movies.

The Birds

This poster waqs a lot of redesigning to do. It was a long process to figure out how to grab a person's eyes and interest with only one set of images. So I thought about how birds look sometimes sitting on those weird broken fences and all, sometimes freaks me out. Also based on the actual Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, I used the same idea but did it with a sense of eerieness and color scheme which to my surprised, it worked. So, here it is.

In the Beginning....

Talking about the beginning of my drawing days no, I meant the beginning of my computer days. This series was the first I did for my illustration class over in France. To sum it up, its bout a young boy who dreams of leaving the city life and go to his family out in the rural skirts outside of the city but he has no way of getting there. Then magically, he is rescued and taken to his family.

I started out with just drawing the scenes. First with the background on a piece of tracing paper, which would make it easier for me later to draw in the characters over the city. Using a particular style of penciling and inking, I managed to make the artwork a lively feel to it.

basically, I've started using this kind of format since I went to France. I took a class over there for illustration and it involved using the computer. Now, me being completely illed skilled at computer arting, it took me along time to learn some of the tricks of the trade. But I eventually got it. Here's an example of one of my creations. this was a good bye note to my friends from the summer.

once again, I open up another blog somewhere on the infinite world of the 'net. But this time, I shall have a purpose instead of just ranting on and on like I used to do back then. The last time I did this was my freshman year here at this lonely school of arts, basically, I just used it to describe my hectic yet dramatic world of life here at SCAD. You'd be surprised on what you can find here. Anyways, this blog is only to be used for storage of my artwork, pictures from France and such and such.
