Update: June 4th, 2009

I've completed all pencils and inks for the Hinterlife graphic novel, barely a whole year after I began last year on June 1st, 2008.

224 pages. It's a major accomplishment for me. Still, there's work to be completed such as the coloring (James needs about 3 months to finish up) and then organizing the pages and layout of book, etc etc. Hopefully the book itself will be out by Fall 2009. That's my hope. That's the plan.

Until then, here's a couple sample pages to tease ya'll with.

More Colored Pages....

Courtesy of James Anderson, enjoy.

Hinterlife pencils completed.

Update: All pencils for the graphic novel, Hinterlife, has been completed. Now I am in the process of doing inks while James in doing colors. We're waiting for some quotes on how much it'll cost to pay for publishing of a 218 page colored book...we'll see. For now, here's some new stuff. Enjoy.

"Hinterlife" graphic novel sneak preview.

Ok, so, "Hinterlife"...whatcha think? Good title? hinter means "uncharted land", and I added "life" to it...clever, eh? It's either that or "The Life and Times of the DeafGuy". It's a work in progress....

Anyways. I finally got some previews of the final colored version of the comics. Colored by the excellent James Anderson...of Michigan. He's great. My energetic inks with his energetic colors but at the same time, it calms the pages down a bit, I believe. Here's Jame's website and blog links. Critics welcomed!

The Abyss Progress Report

So, i completed "Railroad" and it's been sent to my colorist, James Anderson who had impressed me awhile back with his audition on my NYC story. Now he's taken on the challenge of doing my whole book. I'm excited.

Right now, I'm in the middle of the 58 page story, "The Abyss", about my time in Charlotte, NC and partly in other places. I'm really enjoying how some of the pages are coming out. For examples, here's some:

Until next time, it's back to the drawing table!

Girls and Boys of Modern Railroad Days Preview.

Of course, some people have emailed me wondering what I've been up to these days...besides minis, I've been researching, experiencing, and then drawing out a 30 page story about 'freight hoppers'. It's been coming out very nicely. To give you an idea...its basically similar to "The Deaf Guy in NYC" in style, only that I've expanded it a bit, and decided to show more interactions between two different groups that I came across while 'experiencing' this trip.

Here's the first page.

More updates soon...hopefully.

New News!

Finally, after months of preparations and printing...(and working to save money to print...) I have MINI-COMICS to give out! Whoo!

So, if you see me walking, be sure to ask for a copy, you can either pay for a copy or, if you got good artwork yourself or decent comics...maybe we'll trade, eh?
